Who We Are
Championing SRHR for a Healthier, More Equitable Future
At Usawa Health Foundation, we are committed to breaking barriers and creating a world where every young person, woman, and girl has access to the sexual and reproductive health services, education, and rights they deserve. We believe that empowering youth with knowledge and resources enables them to advocate for their health, make informed decisions, and become leaders in their communities. By addressing challenges such as stigma, policy gaps, and limited healthcare access, we work towards ensuring SRHR is a reality for all, not just a privilege for a few.
Through education, advocacy, research, and innovation, we equip young professionals from various fields—including healthcare, law, media, and community leadership—with the skills to drive change. Our work goes beyond awareness; we actively engage policymakers, collaborate with key partners, and harness the power of digital technology to reach and support underserved communities. At Usawa Health Foundation, we are building a future where equity, dignity, and choice are at the heart of sexual and reproductive health for all.
Our Story
Usawa Health Foundation was founded with a clear purpose: to bridge the gap in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for young people, women, and girls. Across many communities, barriers such as stigma, lack of information, restrictive policies, and inadequate healthcare services prevent individuals from making informed decisions about their health. Recognizing these challenges, we set out to create a platform that empowers youth, promotes inclusivity, and drives meaningful change in SRHR.
From the beginning, our mission has been deeply rooted in the belief that young people are powerful agents of change. By equipping them with knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities, we enable them to take the lead in advocating for their rights and the rights of others. Our approach combines education, advocacy, research, and community engagement to ensure that SRHR is accessible, youth-friendly, and driven by those who understand the challenges firsthand.
Over the years, Usawa Health Foundation has expanded its impact through strategic partnerships, youth-led initiatives, and innovative digital solutions that make SRHR services and information more accessible. We have trained and mentored young professionals in healthcare, law, media, and community development, empowering them to champion reproductive health in their respective fields. Our advocacy efforts have also contributed to policy reforms, social change, and increased awareness about the importance of reproductive rights.
At Usawa Health Foundation, we believe that true progress happens when every individual—regardless of gender, background, or economic status—has the freedom to make informed choices about their body and future. Our work continues to break barriers, challenge outdated norms, and create a future where SRHR is a right, not a privilege.
